Broome County has two interstates travelling through it: I-81 and I-88. I-81 enters Broome County from Pennsylvania in Kirkwood and parallels US 11 throughout the County. It is multiplexed with NY 17 (the future I-86) from midway through Kirkwood to the city of Binghamton. I-88 starts in the county between exit 5 and 6 of I-81 and follows NY 7 east to Chenango County.
